This year, the Grand Prize winner will have his/her art hung in the United States Capitol for one year. In addition, the winner will receive 2 airline tickets to Washington, DC to tour the capitol, along with $200 spending money for the trip.
Yes. The Capitol will not hang any art that is bigger than 28″ X 28″ X 4″. In addition, no 3D art will be considered for this particular prize. And lastly, the winner

Absolutely! You may also win awards and recognition wherever your talent lies, whether it be 3D art, pottery, pen & ink, oil, or watercolor. Artwork of any size or medium is acceptable for submission in the Youth Art in the Square exhibit.
Yes, but know that it is totally your responsibility as the artist to price art, and you must contact the potential buyer in a timely manner to complete the sale following the festival. No other event volunteers will coordinate a sale on your behalf.
Yes, up to three pieces may be entered by one artist.
Any public, private or homeschooled student in grades 9-12 (or homeschool equivalent) who lives in North Texas.
Volunteers are necessary to hold this acclaimed juried art festival. Many two-hour shifts are available to suit your schedule, and online signup will be available on this Web site beginning in March. All Art in the Square hours meet community service requirements. All artists, parents and teachers are encouraged to volunteer.
No, but we do accept art submitted into other contests outside of this event.
No. Thanks to a generous Youth Art sponsor, all jury fees have been covered.
Entry deadline is March 29, 2013.
During the week of April 8, 2013, we will publish a list of accepted youth artists and artwork titles on our Web site. We will announce the availability of this list on our Facebook page as well.
Please bring any accepted artwork to the Gazebo at Southlake Town Square on Thursday, April 25, 2013 between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
We will publish our list of finalists on the Web site during the week of April 15, 2013. All finalists will receive an award at the presentation on Sunday, and award ribbons will be attached to artwork by 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The awards presentation will be on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gazebo stage in Southlake Town Square. All artists need to be present to claim their artwork following the presentation.
