Teen Volunteer FAQ

When and where do I check in?

You must sign in at the Volunteer Tent which is located near Starbucks on Main Street in Town Square.  Please allow ample time to get through traffic, park your car (or be dropped off) and get to the Volunteer Tent in order to sign in and report to your designated work area.  The event is very popular so please allow extra time to make your way through the crowds.

Where do I park or get dropped off?

There are two parking garages with ample parking space available.  The address of the one nearest to the Volunteer Tent is 351 State Street.  If a parent is dropping you off, please have them do so at the Carroll Ave. end of Main Street near The Container Store.

What should I wear?

Please dress appropriately.  No short shorts, midriff-baring tops or muscle shirts.  If you are helping with set up or clean up, please wear old clothes and closed-toe shoes. Please dress appropriately for the weather.  Art in the Square goes on rain or shine, so check the forecast and be prepared. You cannot leave your shift if it rains.

Do I get to take a break?

If you are working in THE ZONE at the Inflatables, Rock Wall, or Bungee Jump areas, you will be working a longer shift and will get a 30 minute break.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Yes! Please bring sunscreen, and possibly a hat. Water will be provided, so you don’t need to worry about a water bottle. Bring a snack or money for Food Tickets.  If rain is in the forecast, bring a rain jacket and an umbrella. MOST IMPORTANT:  BRING YOUR TIME CARD TO RECEIVE YOUR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS!!
